A “hilarious” musical revue about human relationships and foibles. (Yes, that’s a tautology!)

Directed by Amaya Egusquiza
Musical Direction by Eric McKirdy

with Harriet Nixon, Aubrey Peterson, Eric Hadley, and Jonathan Pedersen

“Everything you have ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in-laws, but were afraid to admit.” This captivating musical ran for 5,003 performances in New York before it closed in 2007 – and was a hit with Willamette STAGE audiences in October!

This celebration of the mating game takes on the truths and myths behind that contemporary conundrum know as ‘the relationship.’ This hilarious revue pays tribute to those who have loved and lost, to those who have fallen on their face at the portal of romance, to those who have dared to ask, ‘Say, what are you doing Saturday night?’

What the critics say:

“It’s ‘Seinfeld’ set to music.” –The Star-Ledger

“Hilarious! The most entertaining show on or off Broadway.” –Gannett Newspapers

“…funny and poignant…Each scene opens a window into a relationship.” –City Beat

“I loved it, it’s perfect, don’t change it!…a hilarious musical, with wonderful songs…” –E. Gaias

“A show that all will love, precisely why it is now the longest running Off-Broadway musical.” –About.Com

America’s Favorite Holiday Classic!

Produced in collaboration with Corvallis School District Theaters

Directed by Robert Hirsh

Featuring a special guest appearance by David Ogden Stiers

With Andrew Beck, Harriet Nixon, Barbara Berge, Calvin Ward, Robert Hirsh

This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve.

What the critics say:

“A well-loved tale told with style, charm and a heart so big it could burst the ribcage of the harshest Grinch.” –Chicago Tribune

“One of the best holiday shows around. This is a fresh and inventive way of reconnecting with a classic story of love and redemption.” –Chicago Sun-Times

“With today’s holiday pressures to buy an HD plasma TV, toxic toys, the latest techie gadget or a Wii and to decorate our yards with blow-up Santas and snow globes, It’s A Wonderful Life is as relevant today as it was then, maybe more. Perhaps we should recapture the inexpensive joys, like Zuzu’s petals and angels wings, and the simple act of getting together with family and friends.” –Eugene Weekly

Special guest artist David Ogden Stiers’ film credits include Oh God!, The Accidental Tourist, Beauty and the Beast, and Mighty Aphrodite. On television he has played major roles in MASH, The Innocents Abroad, and Murder She Wrote. He narrated PBS miniseries on Ronald Reagan and New York City. David has been nominated three times for Emmy awards. He also serves as Associate Conductor for the Newport (OR) Symphony Orchestra.

Tickets go on sale through the Willamette STAGE online box office approximately two weeks before opening; season subscribers get to select their seats before we open sales to the general public.
