Skyscraper
by David Auburn
Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning author of Proof
On a rainy night in Chicago, six strangers collide on the rooftop of an historic building targeted for demolition.
Through the metaphors of architecture and historic preservation, Auburn explores such themes as continuity, coincidence, memory, love, loneliness, and human aspiration.
Skyscraper’s bittersweet comedy stretches from 1887 to 1997, and includes among its varied cast of characters a 110-year-old man losing his memory and possibly his mind.
Note: This play contains mature themes and language; may not be appropriate for young children; parental discretion advised.
Performances will be February 22, 28, 29, and March 1 at 8:00 PM and February 23, 24, and March 2 at 2:30 PM. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors (65+) and students.
Skyscraper will be performed in the intimate Black Box theatre at Corvallis High School, 1400 NW Buchanan Avenue. Click here for a map. or click here for a photo.
Getting to the theatre: Please note that the best parking and access to the theatre at the high school is by using the 11th Street entrance. The theatre entrance is very close to the East entrance to the school.
