STAGE U Studio offers a new opportunity for artists at all levels to meet, work together and sharpen their skills under the guidance of veteran actor-director Brian Newberg, Willamette STAGE Company’s Associate Artistic Director. Whether you’re an aspiring or novice actor looking for an opportunity to learn from a professional, or a veteran hoping to expand your toolkit, STAGE U provides an opportunity to learn and work in a collaborative, challenging process that meets you where you are and brings you where you want to be. We’re also glad to work with directors and aspiring playwrights!
Regardless of your experience, if you want a cost-effective, time-efficient, proven approach to improving your craft, in a safe, challenging, non-competitive environment that nurtures the imaginative artist in everyone, STAGE U Studio is the place for you.

The next term of STAGE U Studio started Feb. 21, and runs for 10 classes through May 2 (with March 28 off). It’s still possible to sign up for the remaining sessions. Classes meet on Sundays from 6-9 pm at the Corvallis High School Black Box Theater.
Enrollment is limited to fourteen, so reserve your spot in STAGE U Studio early. Terms are ten weeks, one three-hour meeting per week. Fees are $30 per week ($300 total). prepay all 10 sessions and get a $25 discount (for a total of $275). (Reduced-fee, need-based fellowships are available for secondary or college students.)

You may mail in the completed form or bring it to your first class session; in either case, please e-mail to let us know you are enrolling. Returning participants do not need to fill out a new form, but should email Brian to reserve a spot in the class.You may pay by check or cash at the beginning of any class session, or take advantage of our secure online payment system to pay by credit card.
Serving as director of Stage U Studio is Brian Newberg, who brings to the job more than 35 years of experience as an actor, director, script consultant, and teacher. In California, Brian founded and operated a private acting studio, and served as a professional acting coach. Locally, he served for two years as theatre faculty at Linn-Benton Community College. Brian has directed Blackbird, True West amd A Delicate Balance for wSc, appeared onstage in our production of Love Song and will direct the remaining two shows in our 2009-2010 season.
